Cuba Cafe – This bar holds a special place in the heart of locals, it has been open for ages and attracts a diverse crowd of people looking for great cocktails and Latino beats. This small venue gets super crowded during weekends which makes it hard to actually get in the door, so try and arrive early. Omas Briljants – One of Riga’s newest hotspots with a chic and retro interior. The beats from the DJ are as funky and bohemian as the staff and clientele. The first floor has more of a relaxed feel while upstairs is packed to the rafters with young locals hanging out in old couches and drinking endless cocktails.

Ezītis miglāWith two locations in Old Riga this place attracts younger crowd with cheap prices and quirky interiors. The newest venue is larger and seems to be gaining popularity fast, it’s located across the street from Bar I Love You, making it easy to party between two of Riga’s trendiest hangouts for young locals.

Moloneys Irish Pub – Great Riga pub to watch your favourite live sports. Moloney’s offers a couple of local beers or you can chose one of the many beers from Germany, Czech or Belgium. Ala Folk Klub – A traditional style Latvian bar/restaurant inside an underground cellar with great food and beer for excellent prices. Be prepared to wait though, the service is friendly but can be very slow. Traditional dancing and folk bands make this place very popular with the local market and is generally busy most nights of the week.

Piens (Milk) – Located about 10minutes in a Taxi from Old Town this club is a little tricky to find. During the weekends tourists wont be allowed to enter unless your lucky to get past the bouncers. During the week you will find two large terraces and a funky, eclectic interior. Milk is hip and laid-back making this place hard to beat.

Naba Klub – Riga’s best alternative hotspot. You can watch a live bands, dance to DJs, relax in a retro Soviet apartment or have a smoke and drink at a picnic table in its huge courtyard. Definitely not the place for techno or pop music fans, this is a bohemian student favourite.
